Wow, I always wanted a BBC as a kid and now (thanks to ebay) I have two Master 128s and a Model B.
Looking for info is a nightmare apart from this site.
Great stuff.

I tried calling all over the UK for 2 plastic clips which hold the econet upgrade
in place on the motherboard and nobody had them in stock. After one e-mail to
8bs, everything was sorted. I ordered them, within 2 days they were here FOC and
everyone was happy. Definitely recommended for all Acorn and BBC spares and advice.

P.S. The fact that the IRS has accused 8BS of being a 'small business' is just barmy! Shame on you IRS - for trying to prevent us from contributing towards the running costs of our favourite website.

Chris sent me a modem, Replay device and Electron joystick interface, all of
which were delivered within a few days of my sending off stamps for postage. Everything
was carefully packaged and arrived in great, working condition. He also very kindly
included a disc of software to drive the modem. This is typical of the service
Chris has provided me with over the past years. Also, what cannot go unmentioned
is all the time this man has spent offering FREE technical support to myself and
other Acorn users. Unsurprisingly, I hope to have the privilege of using the 8BS
website and services for many years to come. Chris, you're the best!

Thanks for the free Electron, ROM card for my BBC, Sentinel disk game, BBC B handbook and the keyboard overlay. It all arrived in good condition although the fact that it was packaged in banana boxes caused much hilarity when I collected it from the post office.
I'm glad you managed to get the BBC Master working that I sent you and have rescued another Acorn machine from the dump.

I am amazed at the generosity of Chris in giving away such precious BBC equipment in such good condition.
Some items were brand new in their original wrappings. The goods I asked for arrived extremely well packaged and showed that a lot of time and thought had been given to the packing. Chris's knowledge is to be marvelled at and is in my opinion the number one Internet site for anything to do with the BBC computer range. The Web site is well organised and the photographic images and descriptions are a world source for research. The whole site is easy to use and well constructed. I can not think of anything good enough to describe my joy at finding this site. Well done and keep it up and running.

Thousand thanks Chris! My poor old Master 128 has been sat around for years not being used because 2 keys were up the creek. Could never find spares, let alone a repair shop. Then all of a sudden I find someone willing to distribute spares without charge (even if id have happily paid good money for them). Youre doing the public a great service and I hope you are appropriately rewarded!

Many thanks Chris for the Archimedes Hand Scanner I recieved today, your generosity in the form of the 8BS Free Hardware section is unrivaled.
I think the only way the recipients of such goods can really show there appreciation would be to support 8BS in a way that will secure its future, by that I mean maybe taking time out to write a submission to the 8BS online magazine, sharing ideas, techniques or memories of Britains contribution to the home computer market, be it using Acorns at school on an Econet, home use, or maybe anyone who used these machines to run there own businesses back in the 80's or 90's.
Best Regards,
Rich.
